Dodgers vs Braves: Game 3
With the NLDS heading back to Los Angeles, the series saw its first pitching duel thanks to Dodger Stadium’s park factor. Puigmania finally overwhelmed this game, asYasiel Puighit a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 8th inning to break up what looked to be a long game ahead.Andre Ethiermade his first appearance in the series with a pinch hit double on what can only be assumed are Kurt Gibson-esque legs. Hyun-Jin Ryu was an out away from a complete game, going 8.2 innings giving up 1 unearned run over 4 hits, 2 walks and 4 K’s.
Julio Teheranwas the hard luck starter in his first postseason appearance, going 7 strong innings and giving up only 1 ER over 4 hits, 2 walks and 6 K’s. The loss, however, was handed toLuis Avilanafter giving up that Puig homer. The offense never really clicked, as players likeFreddie Freeman,Andrelton SimmonsandEvan Gattiscould not get a hit for the life of them.
