New Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Video About Game Environment
The next-gen consoles produced by Microsoft and Sony this holiday will be equipped with much more powerful GPU’s than their predecessors, which will allow a more sophisticated gaming AI. That’s why Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag associate producer Sylvain Trottier decided to use
their latest promotional video
for the game by highlighting the improvements to the gaming environment, focusing on what can now be afforded on the upcoming holiday consoles.
Heavy rain pouring down, strong winds, improved water shaders and dense fog are just some of the weather features that are upgraded in AC4. The scope of the realism this game emulates is thanks to a bigger focus on individual particles, including lighting each and every raindrop that can appear on screen. Additionally, the game’s lighting system has been re-worked from the ground up, allowing better light reflection and refraction. It all comes together with the dynamic 3D foliage to create a perfect and realistic Caribbean stealth environment.
That’s not all that the game’s environment has improved upon. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will now include an enhanced boarding system. The new gaming engine can allow two animated objects (the video features naval ships) and create a dynamic navmap that will allow you to traverse between the two objects seamlessly. Ransacking enemy ships will never be the same.
