GTA 5 In-Game Commercials Revealed

With less than 2 weeks until the release of GTA 5 any new bit of information is just overkill. Thankfully Rockstar Games

keeps the hype train going

with the release of new screenshots and game information, including the reveal of in-game commercials.

The embedded video shows off just a taste of the humor and satire we can expect out of a Grand Theft Auto game. It starts off with a commercial for an energy bar called “Ego Chaser,” lampooning the idea that a nutrient supplement will somehow change your very ordinary life. The video then follows up with the proclamation that the world is going to end, and the only way you can survive the impending fallout is by gearing up with Ammu-Nation. The popular gun store is back for GTA 5, giving nods to classic GTA drinks like Sprunk and introducing the new “Pißwasser” beer.

Long are the days when playing a video game meant an alternative to TV entertainment, as GTA 5 has introduced the “CNT” channel. Experience reality shows like “The Underbelly of Paradise,” a parody of “COPS.” There’s also new animated shows like “Impotent Rage” that showcase the life of everyone’s favorite hypocrite liberal superhero, and “Gordon Moorehead,” a classic mystery detective program based in the misogynistic 50’s era.

The Weasel Network will also restore family values to the TV screen as they debut “Kung Fu Rainbow Lazer Force.” Obviously a dig at some of the gaming industry’s criticisms of sexuality being bad in favor of violence (which is “good”), this culturally-diverse team will do their best to fight off evil while wearing, “skintight cutoffs and spandex.” The highlights package finally ends with the social media/tablet “LifeInvader,” acting as a portmanteau of Facebook and the iPad.

Check out the video for yourself (depending on the nature of your workplace, it may be NSFW). GTA 5 will be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th.
