Transformers: Legends Goes Classic With Optimus Prime Vs. Megatron
By Nick Tylwalk
I’m not one of those 80s kids who shakes my fist in rage at Michael Bay, and I admit that I enjoy watching more recent “Transformers” series thanks to the snazzy animation. Still, there’s something to be said for the classics, and “Transformers: Legends” is going as traditional as you can get with a September episode featuring a clash between Optimus Prime and Megatron.
From September 4 through September 10, the battle between the Autobot and Decepticon leaders will play out in an episode called “One Shall Fall.” The developers are promising appearances by other well-loved bots like Bumblebee, Ironhide, Starscream and Shockwave as support characters, but the real hook should be the big rig himself. It marks the first time Optimus Prime has appeared in any episode, and the first time he’s featured on an Ultra Rare five-star card.
That’s just the start of what DeNA has planned for September, as players can look forward to a new episode and content update every week. The Dinobots are set to star in the next one, and a PvP-focused episode is also on deck.
Those and other blasts of nostalgia can be had in “Transformers: Legends” right now. The free-to-play card battle game is available on iOS and Android devices, and it’s worth a download this month more than ever.
