Major Tom – Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman must be a chameleon. He’s played a multitude of roles in his career, including a wizard, police commissioner, skinhead, evil mayor and Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols. There’s no doubt in my mind that Gary Oldman could play an excellent Major Tom, Snake’s commanding officer in Metal Gear Solid 3.

Younger Choice: Daniel Craig of James Bond fame. If made to look older, he can handle the sharp-witted brevity and respect needed to play this character.

Remarkable Circumstances Choice: Michael York. Most notable for “Austin Powers” fans as Basil Exposition, he may be a bit too old and too frail to act anymore. He recently announced that he is suffering from Amyloidosis, which has affected his voice and face. Get well, Mr. York.
