Sony has been working hard with both indies and AAA developers to bring games old and new to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita. Now Sony has announced a new team created out of the Third Party Relations department. They are called “Third Party Production,” which is headed up and directed by Gio Corsi.

In a PlayStation blog post written by Corsi himself, he states “you’ll see even more great games on PlayStation platforms, including new IP’s, ports, and localized products. In addition, our partners who are currently in production will have us as a resource to strengthen their development process, ensuring quality and consistency on all Third Party projects.”

The team’s first big project is already announced and underway in Borderlands 2 for the PS Vita. We heard about this undertaking during Sony’s gamescom conference just under two weeks ago, but now we know who is responsible for the project.

Sony continues to make the right moves ahead of the holiday season, especially when it comes to listening to their fans. Gio Corsi is willing to listen to porting and localization suggestions on his Twitter account. If you are a fan of JRPG’s, hard to find PSX games or PC games that haven’t come out made it to Sony gaming devices (Final Fantasy Type-0, Suikoden II and FTL come to mind), make sure to let him and the team know!
