2. Portal 2

Four years is a lot of time to pass between sequels, but when Portal 2 was finally released in 2011, the payoff was well worth the wait.

A sequel to a small title that was included in Valve’s “Orange Box” package in 2007, Portal 2 was turned into a full 10-hour game that put players’ minds to work constantly. Even if you’re not a fan of puzzle games, Portal 2’s storytelling and clever writing is enough to pull in any player who loads the game up to give it a try.

The inclusion of a full co-op mode that required players to work together in ways no game before, or since, has required was the icing on the cake for this gamer.
