Best First-Person Shooter – Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

This game, in tandem with the Xbox 360’s Halo 3, made 2007 the year of the FPS and revolutionized how we play shooting games. Modern Warfare took a new approach to the Call of Duty series by setting aside the World War II setting in favor of then-futuristic combat.

CoD 4, while maintaining a respectable single player campaign, truly brought multiplayer experience to the next level. Customizable loadouts, multiple gameplay styles, a level up system, killstreaks, a plethora of playable maps; this game created a hallmark experience worthy of being recognized as a classic for years to come.
