"Double Helix Games has teased the first brand new character to join its “Killer Instinct” reboot for Xbox One.The character, which has been created specifically for the new game, has not been officially named yet.The character is able to throw spider webs to trap opponents and also use them to close the gap between herself and the enemy, a skill which is likely to be considerably useful in extending combos. Additionally she wears gauntlets with blades on them and has Wolverine-like claws.Microsoft has confirmed “Killer Instinct” will be free to download and will include Jago as a playable character."
"The UK video games charts – that’s all formats and all prices – has a bright and fresh look to it today as everybody gets their games published in time for gamers to save up for “GTA V’s” launch on September 17th.Ironically enough given it was often accused of being a pale “GTA” rip-off in the past (it isn’t now) it’s “Saints Row” that grabs the top spot from other new releases, “Splinter Cell Blacklist” (#2), “Disney Infinity” (#3) and “The Bureau: XCom Declassified” (#10). Here’s what Chart-Track has to say aboit the rest of the chart…“‘Saints Row IV’ is the 4th biggest launch of the year so far (behind ‘Tomb Raider,’ ‘Bioshock Infinite’ and ‘The Last of Us’). It fails to outperform the debut of predecessor ‘Saints Row: The Third,’ but is still the second best launch for the controversial series."
"Ubisoft has announced that it will launch Next Level, a series of competitive gaming tournaments that are set to kick-off at PAX Prime this week. The tournaments will be held at conventions like PAX, Comic-con, Magfest and E3 with regular tournaments being held online and in select physical locations.ESports heavyweights need not apply, this will be as close to non-competitive gaming as you can get. Ubisoft’s senior director of player engagement Josh Milligan explains.“The analogy I draw is eSports is like the post-graduate program for gamers, and there’s nothing before it,” he said. “It’s the most advanced thing. There are a certain number of people who can really understand the details of the most intense, amazing ‘StarCraft’ match, and there are a lot of other people who play games on a regular basis who don’t necessarily get into that.”"
