Bungie Release New Destiny Behind-The-Scenes Footage

Bungie took to their game’s official YouTube channel to release the latest video depicting new footage and explanation on some of the features expected in Destiny.

Titled “Out Here in the Wild”, Bungie staff members provide commentary on various points of interest.

The most documented being the new third weapon slot, straying away from the common two weapon slot used by Bungie with the Halo series. According to the video, players will have access to the following:

• Primary Slot: Assault Rifles (meant for versatility)
• Special Slot: Specialized weapons meant for specific moments
• Heavy Slot: Large damage weapons

One of the game’s initial selling points was that it would give gamers a social experience unlike anything witnessed on a console before.

“What I believe is going to be the most exciting for people who play Destiny is the social experience of colliding with other people in this big world,” said Joseph Staten, writer and design director.

Bungie goes on to explain how friends can seamlessly join in on your adventure whether you’re in one of the game’s “Public Events” or playing your own story.

The video also comments on character customization, competitive multiplayer, and looting.

Destiny will be released on both current gen and next-gen consoles sometime in 2014.
