The indie horror sensation Amnesia, a cult hit back when it released in 2010, will finally get a sequel. Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs is set to be released on September 10th of this year, with the new information sprouting up on Steam and GoG.

This game has been in development for quite some time. In fact, the game has been delayed multiple times before finally landing its September 10 release.

A lot of the first game’s success came from members of the Youtube gaming community doing let’s plays of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, some of which resulted in millions of viewers becoming aware of the indie title. The result is over a million copies of the game sold, which helped to allow this sequel to be eventually released.

The tag from the game’s website reads as such:

The year is 1899

Wealthy industrialist Oswald Mandus awakes in his bed, wracked with fever and haunted by dreams of a dark and hellish engine. Tortured by visions of a disastrous expedition to Mexico, broken on the failing dreams of an industrial utopia, wracked with guilt and tropical disease, he wakes into a nightmare. The house is silent, the ground beneath him shaking at the will of some infernal machine: all he knows is that his children are in grave peril, and it is up to him to save them.

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs will be released on September 10th DRM-free on GoG.com and available on Steam. You can check out the trailer below.
