With Disney Infinity expected to hit shelves soon, Disney Interactive Studios announced that their game will have two free mobile apps available as well.

Currently available on the App store and Windows store, fans will be able to take a version of their game and continue playing away from home. Disney Infinity is an adventured based game that uses collectible figures (similar to Skylanders), and features some of Disney’s iconic characters.

The two apps are called Disney Infinity: Action, and Disney Infinity: Toy Box.

In “Action”, gamers can create movies of themselves interacting alongside their favourite characters. Recently released promotional videos feature Mr. Incredible, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Sully.

With “Toy Box”, players are given even more customization, allowing them to create new worlds that interact with each other and its characters. Essentially, fans will be able to create their own games, similarly to Little Big Planet. It’s been reported that worlds created on the console can be transferred to the mobile version, and vice versa.

The mobile apps were released today, while the full console version of Disney Infinity is expected to release August 18 in North America, and August 23 in Europe. A PC version is slated for sometime in 2014.
