Battlefield 4 to Support DLC Transfer to Next-Gen Consoles
DICE and EA recently announced that current-gen Battlefield 4 gamers will be able to transfer their DLC to next generation consoles.
The developer had this to say through their official blog:
"Whether you are playing on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, we want to make your transition to next generation consoles easy. That is why today we are informing the devoted Battlefield community that all the time and effort you spend building up your Battlefield 4 stats will carry over when you upgrade from the Xbox 360 to Xbox One and from the PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4."
This means that those moving from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, and from the Playstation 3 to the PS4, can comfortably do so without worrying about losing any additional purchased content. However, there won’t be similar support for cross-platform switches.
Additionally, any unlocks and rankings will also be transferable as well.
This decision comes in response to an awkward time for gamers, when most are considering if or when they should switch over to the next-gen consoles. Many game developers are even seeing low pre-orders, regardless of the name attached to the game.
Battlefield 4 is expected to release in North America on October 29, and in Europe November 1 on both current-gen and next-gen consoles.
