If the Disney fan or young gamer in your household hasn’t been sufficiently whipped into a frenzy by the impending August 18 release of “Disney Infinity,” you may want to keep them away from this article. Seriously, tell them Sully and Mike Wazowski are right outside or something.

See, Disney used this weekend’s D23 Expo to reveal a second wave of “Disney Infinity” characters that will go on sale this October, showing off even more of the wide range of properties that will be incorporated into the game. There’s something for traditionalists (Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey from “Fantasia), Pixar fans (Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie from the “Toy Story” flicks), and Disney Channel watchers (Phineas and Perry the platypus), along with some newer Disney characters (like Rapunzel from “Tangled,” Wreck-It Ralph, and Vanellope) and some who haven’t even graced our screens yet (Anna and Else from the upcoming movie “Frozen). Also Jack Skellington, who’s in a class of awesome all his own.

The Toy Story play set will also be available at the same time, giving players another world to explore. This should just be the tip of the iceberg too, as the possibilities really are almost endless considering that Disney has huge collections of both animated and live action movies and shows from which to pull.

(It also owns Marvel and has the rights to the “Star Wars” universe now. Just saying…)

“Disney Infinity” rolls out this Sunday for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and Wii with a starter pack that includes the game, the Infinity Base needed to play, three figures (Mr. Incredible, James P. Sullivan and Captain Jack Sparrow), and the  “Monsters University,” “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Incredibles” play sets. The “Cars” and “The Lone Ranger” play sets are also available at launch, as are additional single figures, three-packs and blind packs of the Power Discs that provide either boosts or in-game items.

Parting with all of your money has rarely sounded like this much fun.
