Campster

Video gaming needs more eloquent, intelligent and brutally honest critics like Campster. Mixing light-hearted snark with level-headed prose, this Youtuber uses the most out of a 15-20 minute video to take an element from a game or game series and look at it from all possibilities in a series called “Errant Signal.” Instead of glossing over any problems or small issues a game might have, he looks into it further and leaves you fully aware of a problem that exists that you might not have seen in the first place. As well, Campster’s willingness to point out issues in beloved games is what makes this channel special; he doesn’t sugarcoat the truth in order to appeal to a wider base of fanatics. At ~33,000 subscribers, he is one of the truly under-appreciated voices on Youtube.

Check out Campster’s video above on The Last of Us, in which he speaks of the game’s handling of story and gameplay as “oil and water.”
