Nintendo Direct Announced For August 7, 7AM PT

Nintendo, and all of its regional companies, have announced a Nintendo Direct for tomorrow morning on Twitter and Facebook.

The timing of this Nintendo Direct its a little odd. Not even a month ago did Nintendo reveal a mini Nintendo Direct, back on July 18th. They showcased some current and upcoming games, in addition to the reveal of a Wii U Virtual Console release of Earthbound.

It’s unlikely that there will be any mention of a price drop for the Wii U, as Nintendo had to switch companies that made a semiconductor for the Wii U recently. We might be getting some locked-down dates for games that will be coming out next year, like Mario Kart 8, the upcoming Super Smash Bros. title, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and more. Whatever the news is, it should be a big one. Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata said that he expects Nintendo to return to its glory days of profit for Q1 2014.
