Time Warner Cable Bringing Service To Xbox 360
Another television service provider will be joining Verizon Fios and Xfinity from Comcast to allow TV viewing on the Xbox 360.
In a major partnership deal, a brand new Time Warner Cable app will be coming to the 360 via Xbox Live later this summer, Microsoft announced on Friday.
The app, which promises to allow access of up to 300 live channels, will require an Xbox Live Gold account as well as a Time Warner Cable subscription. It will offer more channels than any other TV app on the service.
The announcement is yet another way in which Microsoft is trying to turn its consoles – not just the Xbox One – into an all-in-one entertainment hub. With the Time Warner Cable app, users who have an account will have a set top box wherever they go; as long as an internet connection is available, of course.
An exact release date has yet to be announced.
