Project Spark Looking For Beta Testers

One of the more innovative new IP’s announced at E3 was Microsoft’s Project Spark. The game allows you to both create magical worlds using both Kinect and SmartGlass (or a controller), play them yourself or share them with others. Additionally, you can make objects yourself combining the traditional set and share them within the online community. It was a breath of fresh air to see Microsoft Studios go outside of the box.

Typically, these “use your imagination” games require a lot of playtesting to prevent bugs, clipping and compatibility issues. Thankfully, if you’re interested in Project Spark, they’re asking for beta testers to help test their game in the future. They also have a Facebook page where you can follow their news as well as download wallpapers, catch interviews and stay up to date on the game’s development.

The game looks to be Microsoft’s counterpoint to PlayStation’s success with the LittleBigPlanet series. They both share the ability to make levels that others enjoy, they both give the player multiple genre types to play with and build on the sense of community. The difference so far is that LBP has a fully-developed single player campaign, whereas Project Spark seems to be focused more on the multiplayer community aspect, as well as a choose-your-own adventure creativity with its campaign creation.

Project Spark will be released on Xbox One and on Windows 8 for the PC.
