Minecraft hits 11 million sales on PC

As it continues to outsell any and all competition on the market, the prize creation of “Notch” and his company Mojang has surpassed yet another sales milestone.

The sandbox juggernaut known as ‘Minecraft’ continues to dominate the market, recently reaching the 11 millionth sold copy mark of the original computer version of the game. The milestone comes less than three months after hitting the 10 million  mark which was accomplished in early April.

The 11 million sales on PC are in addition to the approximately 10 million copies of the Pocket Edition version of the game as well as 6 million purchases of the Xbox Live Arcade version.

When added up, that is about 27 million copies sold of a game that was released just two years ago. Needless to say, “Notch” and his brethren at Mojang are set for life monetarily because of the game’s success.

And don’t forget, there is an Xbox One version coming out this winter as well.

Sound off Gamesiders! Are you one of the 27 million players worldwide who purchased ‘Minecraft’? If so, what is the best thing you’ve ever created inside the open world game we all love?
