Do you smell what The Rock is cookin’?

When THQ shut its doors and auctioned off its assets earlier this year, one of the game licenses up for bids was the right to publish the WWE video game.

2K Sports eventually won the bidding for the WWE license, and on Monday night it unveiled the box art for the first wrestling game under the 2K umbrella: ‘WWE 2K14’.

The cover to this year’s installment features The Rock yelling into the mic in the middle with the ‘WWE 2K14’ wording placed in the top-center of the cover.

Of course, the cover is nice and all, but what fans really want to know about is the game itself. Well, 2K Sports has the consumers covered.

In addition to the release of the box art, the first official trailer was revealed via the @WWEGames twitter handle which you can watch below.

The trailer confirms the inclusion of Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, Ryback, and Dolph Ziggler in this year’s game. But it also delivers a major hint at the newest game mode that has been made famous by the 2K Sports franchise: “My Player”.

At two separate points in the trailer it hints to the addition of a MyWrestler style mode when it reads “Become a Superstar” and “Become a Legend”.

‘WWE 2K14’ releases on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 29th, and will be available on the PS4 and Xbox One when the consoles launch.
