Injustice Wants You To Kneel Before Zod In July

Actually, you’ll be the one who can make opponents do the kneeling, as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that Superman’s fellow Kryptonian turned formidable foe General Zod will be the next playable DLC character released for “Injustice: Gods Among Us.” And if they won’t submit, you can always force them to obey with a finishing move that involves smashing them through the moon.

Zod will invade this July, and just in case there’s any doubt that his selection was due to his role as the villain in a certain high-grossing movie in theaters right now, there’s also a “Man of Steel” skin for Superman that will be released at the same time. The skin will cost $0.99 on the PlayStation Network and 80 Microsoft Points on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, while Zod will set you back $4.99 or 400 Microsoft Points.

The DLC additions to the “Injustice” roster have been a mixed bag so far, consisting of Batgirl and Lobo from the pages of DC Comics, Scorpion from the “Mortal Kombat” series and a fairly original take on Zod. The Season Pass sold when the game launched is also complete with the addition of Zod, but with the Martian Manhunter already teased, it’s fairly safe to think that more heroes and villains are still in the pipeline – especially since “Injustice” was the top-selling console title during the (admittedly weak) months of April and May.

As for Superman, he already had a pretty broad selection of in-game outfits from which to choose, but his snazzy new film suit doesn’t seem to be much help against Zod, as you can see in the gameplay trailer below:
