On July 23, Golden Sun: The Lost Age will be released on the Wii U’s Virtual Console in Japan, as Nintendo Life has reported.

Its predecessor, Golden Sun, has been available on the Wii U Virtual Console in North America since April of this year. Both games received high praise upon their initial GameBoy Advance release for their stunning graphics, beautiful music, and the unique addition of “Djinn” to a traditional turn-based battle system. The third game in the series, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, was released for the Nintendo DS in 2010.

The Japanese release makes it likely that Golden Sun: The Lost Age will be similarly released on western consoles soon. It also indicates that Nintendo/CAMELOT has not forgotten about the series. This news brings renewed hope for fans that a fourth installment may still be in the works.
