Oculus Version of Minecraft Cancelled

Shortly after the announcement came down that Oculus was being acquired by Facebook for a whopping $2 billion, one game developer has already come out against the purchase by pulling is game from the list of potential titles.

Mojang Studio founder and Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson has announced that his company is pulling out of a potential deal with Oculus that would have brought a VR version of Minecraft to the gaming headset.

Individually-created mods can still be done that will bring the game to the VR headset, but an officially licensed version from Mojang appears dead.

Mike’s Musings: It’ll be interesting to see how many other game developers follow suit, and pull out of deals with Oculus. Is this the first of many, or an isolated incident?
