Greatest GameThe time is finally here. It’s time for the GameSided’s Greatest Game of All-Time Tournament. The three Editors of the site — Mike Straw, Daniel George and Nick Tylwalk — decided to compile a bracket of the greatest games of all time.

Now, do not confuse greatest with best, though it’s not hard to do. With this bracket, the games selected were not simply chosen by how good they were. They were chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Following
  • Industry impact
  • Quality

Each round will be voted on by you, the GameSided reader. The first round will voting will last until Saturday when the results will be tallied, and games will move on to the round of 32. You can view a breakdown of voting times below:

  • First Round — Wedensday, March 19 — Saturday, March 22
  • Round of 32 — Sunday, March 23 — Tuesday, March 25

No Contra? And only GTA:III from the entire series? Guess some good games had to be pushed aside somewhere.

There are more than 64 great games out there. I even wrote about 40 great games that came out in 2004 alone!
We offered a balance between a variety of genres, and know that there would be some notable omissions. It wouldn’t be a March Madness bracket without controversy!

No, I understand. I made a comment on Twitter that Mike (I think it was Mike) responded to and the “process” and reasoning behind these 64 making the cut sounded reasonable enough for me.

I really thought Madden would’ve been more competitive. It’s still the first day, but I’m surprised

Arkham City can still pull off the upset! C’mon!!
