Brett Lawrie To Grace Canadian Cover Of MLB 14: The Show

For the first time in the game’s series, a Canadian athlete will grace the Canadian retail version on an MLB: The Show video game. That’s right, Blue Jays third baseman Brett Lawrie will grace the cover of MLB 14: The Show to be sold to Canadian retailers. As well, there will be a contest held by PlayStation (via Facebook) to decide which design to use. Liking or commenting on the design choice of your preference can earn you a signed baseball jersey.

For the past two years, the honors had gone to Toronto Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista, beginning right on the heels of finishing third in the 2011 AL MVP batting race. Brett Lawrie, despite not quite yet being the elite talent with the bat as one could expect of a cover athlete, has been a stud in the field when it comes to defense. MLB 14: The Show, featuring Brett Lawrie on the Canadian cover, will be released on the PS3 and PS Vita on April 1, with the PS4 version coming sometime in May.
