The Elder Scrolls Online Requires Xbox Live Gold

We already know that PlayStation Plus won’t be a requirement to play The Elder Scrolls Online on the PS4, though the $15 per month subscription fee will stand, and now we know the requirements in order to play the game on the Xbox One.

In a statement from Bethesda to Forbes, the game’s publisher confirmed with the news magazine that an Xbox Live Gold subscription will be needed in order to play The Elder Scrolls Online. That means, in addition to spending $60 on the game itself and $15 a month on the game’s subscription, players will also have to spend $60 a year on Microsoft’s Xbox Live subscription.

That news is sure to be something that will turn away plenty of Xbox One users from purchasing the game. Then again, if you were planning on getting the game in the first place, you probably already have Xbox Live Gold.
