Minecraft Already Sold 1 Million Units On PS3

Minecraft is a beast. Even when releasing on December 17th (a week before Christmas), up until a month later in January, arguably the slowest software month on the gaming market, it has managed to sell a million copies on its PS3 version. This is according to Daniel Kaplan, of the Mojang company blog.

"We are super grateful for the support and we are very thankful for your dedication and I hope you will like the future updates we have planned for you (more on that in a later blog post)"

Knowing that Mojang likes to keep version-specific features to a minimum, perhaps we can expect more Sony IP-related skins or character models in the future of Minecraft on PS3? Hopefully players can build their own platforming tracks and race through them with a Crash Bandicoot skin, or fight through the game’s adventure as a block version of Sir Daniel Fortesque.

Either way, Minecraft sells like hotcakes on yet another platform. I don’t suppose you’re that surprised, are you?
