One of the coolest aspects of the next-gen consoles is the potential when it comes to setting and level design. The possibilities are seemingly endless when it comes to creating the artwork inside the games that will take up hours of our lives.

Using upcoming racer Driveclub as an example, Sony’s new “Be Moved” website describes the creation of the game’s world, and just how much detail goes into creating the games we love.

"“Artists imagine new worlds. Engineers bring them to life. DriveClub is a new driving game that takes realism to the next level. Every location is precise down to the angle of light. Flora is detailed to the species. The cars are made of a staggering 250,000 polygons. So the feeling of driving is as real as the world created.”"
