Awesome Games Done Quick Schedule: Day 7
We have finally reached the final day of Awesome Games Done Quick 2014! We have seen some amazing moments during this stream (F-Zero GX, Yoshi’s Island and the 4-player Super Metroid race runs come into mind), but it all comes to an end tonight.
For those who are not familiar with Awesome Games Done Quick, it is an annual charity event where Speed Demos Archive have some of the top speedrunners get together for a full week of playing and streaming awesome and challenging games…in a quick fashion. It is all done in the name of the Prevent Cancer Foundation, a, “Nonprofit organization that saves lives through cancer research, education and community outreach.”
If your donation reaches certain amounts throughout the Awesome Games Done Quick stream, you are eligible to win sweet prizes. They change throughout the stream and are usually centered around the current game. With two days to go, the Twitch channel has already obtained a peak of 100,000 concurrent viewers, meaning that Twitch will donate an additional $5,000 to the cause!
Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 has already reached its initial goal of $500,000 and currently sits at over $683,000! There is an $800,000 incentive for a group dance at the end of the event, so make sure to help them reach that goal and donate here!
