Man, Nintendo are really pushing for the Year of Luigi. Dr. Luigi is the newest Luigi Wii U game to be announced and the last to be released in 2013. Gameplay is similar to Dr. Mario, but this time Dr. Luigi uses L-shaped blocks to take out the colored viruses on screen.
Cooperative play remains, as well, but this time with some changes. When you used to create combinations in Mario’s version when you played against your friend, additional colored blocks would drop on your friend’s screen. Now, what happens is your friend’s upcoming block will be changed to a different color scheme at the last second, forcing them to adapt on the fly. Nintendo is making it apparent they are aiming to maintain friendships, unlike what they do with the Mario Party series!
Dr. Luigi will begin to push the Year of Luigi into 2014 with a December 31st, 2013 release on the Wii U. I wonder just how many more ideas Nintendo can come out with using this character for next year!
