Grand Theft Auto V Online Gameplay Footage Coming Thursday

Rockstar Games has just announced that Grand Theft Auto V online gameplay footage and video previews will be shown off in a video for Thursday August 15.

So far, we have seen Grand Theft Auto V gameplay footage in a video last month that revealed just how much the three main characters (Michael, Trevor, Franklin) interact with each other and how they live their lives outside of the main story missions. At the end, they did tease online multiplayer, showing off at least 16-19 Rockstar devs on the screen at the same time. Hopefully Grand Theft Auto V online will allow 32-64 people in one map at once to allow the maximum amount of player-created carnage possible.

The title of the reveal picture above is also as mysterious as Rockstar usually operates. “Grand Theft Auto Online” without the “V” suggests that the online multiplayer might extend beyond that of Grand Theft Auto V. It’s all speculation at this point, but it would be interesting to see if you could access maps from previous titles (Vice City, IV, etc.) in the online multiplayer mode. Perhaps they could even run some sort of online daily challenge, as well? We’ll have to wait until Thursday to find out what Rockstar’s got cooking.

Grand Theft Auto V will be released on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on September 17th.
