Liverpool Football Club and Electronic Sports recently announced a partnership that will begin with next month’s release of FIFA 14.

The three year deal will make Liverpool the official partner of the longtime running football simulation game.

The EA studios went out of their way to make sure they captured the Liverpool players’ likeness with 3D digital head scans. Additionally, Liverpool fans will be able to download special covers of FIFA 14, and have access to wallpapers and behind the scene access for the FIFA 14 pro-player tournament. With EA intent on providing Liverpool dedicated content for the entire year, fans can also expect match simulations, likely similar to the Madden Moments found in the Madden franchise.

Liverpool FC chief commercial officer, Billy Hogan had this to say:

"We are thrilled to have EA SPORTS, one of the world’s leading sports entertainment brands, as our new partner. We know that so many of our Liverpool family, including fans and players, play EA SPORTS FIFA regularly so this new partnership will help bring the club closer to our fans in innovative new ways"

Well how many people from the Liverpool family  play FIFA exactly?

According to Jamie McKinlay, VP of marketing at EA Sports, over a half million registered Liverpool played the recent instalment.

FIFA 14 gets a North American release on September 24, and a European release on September 27.
