Morning DLC: Video Games News And Rumors 7/29/13

“BioShock Infinite” designer Ken Levine says he’s “excited for tomorrow” – July 29 – in what appears to be teaser for an impending DLC announcement.

The teaser came via Twitter, where no further information was shared, but “BioShock Infinite” players will be expecting the an announcement regarding a much anticipated campaign expansion for the title.

An Irrational Games rep recently revealed that the developer will unveil information on a new DLC offering for “BioShock Infinite” in ‘late July’.

We all want “Fallout 4″ to exist, and badly at that, but Bethesda Softworks is still providing no new information on the game. Obisidian Entertainment game designer Chris Avellone, who created the expansion pack to “Fallout 3: New Vegas,” recently spoke to Inside Gaming about things he’d like to see the figurative next game.

This includes taking the series to new locations, such as New Orleans, where a dam stretched around the city; San Franciso; the Erie Stretch briefly mentioned in The Pitt; and maybe some locations outside of the US

Rumor had it that “Kingdom Hearts 3: would finalize Sora’s 10-year adventure of teaming up with Disney and “Final Fantasy” characters in order to take on Organization 13 and its Heartless minions. It looks like the series won’t be riding off into the sunset just yet, however, as a new interview with director Tetsuya Nomura reveals there’s plenty more “heart” left in this kingdom.

“As a core game, this is finally the third, and 10 years have passed,” Nomura said. “I couldn’t call this a trilogy… In ‘Kingdom Hearts 3,’ the battles that the characters have been fighting for the past 10 years will come to a conclusion. That is the plan. But the series will continue. Only the particular enemy they have been fighting the past 10 years will come to an end.”

“Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII” will feature a fourth, previously unannounced continent offering an open-world experience akin to “Skyrim.”

That’s according to a report at Gematsu, who attended a “Lightning Returns” press conference in Japan last week. Spokespeople from the studio confirmed during the event that the game will feature four continents.
