The Uncharted film is such a fickle project. Just like the on-and-off Halo movie that’s been in discussion since 2004, there’s a good chance that it may not come to pass for quite some time, if at all. But when a project is stuck in development help, you want to get out of it in any way you can, even if it means asking a Canadian comedy duo to help.

In an interview with IGN, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg confirmed that they have been approached by Naughty Dog several times over the past four years to write the screenplay for the potential Uncharted film, but have refused every time. They cite the fact that, the way they see it, it’d be an Indiana Jones movie.

While it’s possible that they could find a way of making it work in the future, it’s brings up the discussion of making films out of video games. While making video games based on movies tends to not work that well, the game direction and cinematic direction involved would definitely allow an Uncharted film to work. The financial success of films for video games is hit or miss, but it’s definitely worth the shot.

An Uncharted film almost went to production starring Mark Wahlberg, but failed due to the director leaving the project. If it were to be produced, who would you want to star as Nathan Drake? Who would be Sully? Let us know any and all casting wishes you have in the comments below!
