Did Microsoft’s Decision Change Your Mind?

When Microsoft announced that the Xbox One would require an online check-in every 24 hours and that games would be locked to a single Xbox Live account, it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

So much so that 75% of the voting community on Fansided.com said that they were siding with Sony’s PlayStation 4.

Then Microsoft dropped another bombshell last week when it announced a complete 180 on its policies. Gone are the new DRM and “always on” restrictions; in are the policies that gamers deal with today.

It was a major win in the battle for consumer rights to avoid new restrictive policies. Obviously, no one knows if Microsoft, or even Sony, would reinstate (or instate) the policy three/four years down the line when gamers are firmly entrenched into the new generation.

But for now, gamers must rejoice in knowing that they will be able to buy, sell, rent, trade, and play games the same way they’ve always been able to.

However, it does beg the question: does Microsoft’s change of stance change your stance on the next generation consoles? Will gamers go back to the Xbox One, or does the PS4 still have a leg up on the competition?

So Gamesiders, what’s your stance on the PS4 vs. Xbox One debate now that Microsoft has changed its mind on DRM? Leave a comment below and let us know!
