Our MLB 2015 Predictions Simulation From MLB 15: The Show
New York Mets
When I really think of a .500 team, it’s hard no to look at the Mets. So many promising players dashed out due to luck, lack of consistent displays of skills and the like. MLB 15: The Show seems to think the same, as Matt Harvey sported just a 3.60 ERA and 1.24 WHIP to go with him pressive 194 strikeouts. I say “just” because he was outshone by his teammates, with Jacob deGrom, Jon Neise and Bartolo Colon all sporting better numbers in all categories but strikeouts. The Mets pitched well as a collective. Freakishly so, at that.
It is why it only makes sense that the offense is the part of the 2015 MLB season that drags down the Mets towards mediocrity. The team was caught stealing just a handful fewer times than they were successful. Players like David Wright, Curtis Granderson, Michael Cuddyer, Lucas Duda and Travis d’Arnaud all hit 23 home runs or more, yet only Michael Cuddyer could manage an OP above .825. Plus, too many strikeouts and not enough walks were a team problem for the Mets this Year. Even in their attempts at making sure flags fly forever, the best they could do is break even at .500. What a shame for their projections.
