Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead Season 3 Won’t Start This Year

With Telltale Games juggling so many projects at once, in addition to their new partnership with Lionsgate Films to make “Super Shows,” one has to wonder just when exactly will their adaptation of The Walking Dead start up again. According to Telltale Games’ Director of Public Relations, Job Stauffer, Season 3 won’t be coming anytime soon. In fact, a new season won’t even begin this calendar year, according to what he’s saying on Twitter.

As discouraging as they may be to fans of Telltale Games’ take on The Walking Dead within a graphic adventure setting, that isn’t to say that we will be completely out of the woods for the rest of the year. Someone replied, suggesting that there would be, “No Telltale Walking Dead in 2015,” with Mr. Stauffer replying, “I didn’t say that….” (I chose to leave out the winky face, in case you were wondering)

Seeing how The Walking Dead: 400 Days DLC was released as stopgap content between the releases of The Walking Dead seasons 1 and 2, Stauffer could be suggesting that we may be able to play some sort of standalone Walking Dead content by the end of the year. With E3 2015 just a month away, and the promise of “news soon” concerning the series, perhaps we may get some sort of announcement sooner rather than later. Who knows; they might even decide to go a companion series route, similar to “Fear The Walking Dead” is doing with the other AMC television series.
