Smash Bros Wii U: RIDLEY CONFIRMED As A Stage Hazard
Many people following the development of Smash Bros for Wii U had held out hope that Ridley would be a new character in the Wii U version of the game. Unfortunately, those hopes were dashed today during the ’50 New Things About Smash’ livestream.

It has been confirmed that Ridley is only a part of the Metroid stage. He will play a similar role as the Birdmen in Smash Bros 3DS and ally with the first character to attack him during battle. He will even turn into Meta Ridley when a certain set of prerequisites are met! Whoever kills him will also receive a point for his death – including his allies.
