Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Trailer Brings Players Up To Speed

For those who have but faint memories of their experiences playing in the Disney-created worlds of action-RPG fantasy, the recent trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMix aims to fill you in. Offering vague hints at the overarching story (as to avoid spoilers for those who did not play the game on the PS2), the trailer provides the scope of the first Kingdom Hearts game, as well as show a glimpse of what’s in store this December.

More from PlayStation 3

True to the story, what awe see is main characters Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy and a rag tag group of friendly adventurers across several worlds talk on about the power of friendship and light, sources that seem powerful enough to drive out the darkness that all worlds are borne. More importantly, the second half of the trailer descends into what’s next in Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMix, including Birth By Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Re:Coded and many new Disney worlds ready to explore.

Honestly, hearing that orchestral score pore through really brings one back, evoking that nostalgia that Square Enix is banking on. With a December 2nd release date exclusively for the PS3, a month reserved for smaller-prestige title that couldn’t make it before Black Friday, the hope is that the trailer reminds people just how great this Kingdom Hearts series is. Plus, with Kingdom Hearts III developers reportedly abandoning their current graphics engine in favor of Unreal Engine 4, who knows just how long the wait for the next iteration will be. Enjoy what you can, when you can! (Just like with the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster)

Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMix will be released exclusively for the PS3 on December 2nd.
