Bloodborne US Release Date Revealed

If you were wondering how much longer a wait US fans of Bloodborne would have a February 5th release date in Japan, it turns out it’s not that long at all. Masaaki Yamagiwa, producer at SCE Japan Studio, has announced on the PlayStation Blog that the US release date will be February 6th, 2015. That’s right, the spiritual successor of the Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls series, developed by From Software in conjunction with SCE Japan, will see a North American release on a Friday for a PS4 exclusive.

Additionally, Bloodborne will also come with a $79.99 Collector’s Edition, complete with a SteelBook game case, an exclusive art book containing the gothic-inspired game’s concept art, as well as a digital copy of the game’s original soundtrack. Supplies, as it always seems to be with these things, are limited. Furthermore, pre-ordering Bloodborne through select retailers will provide you with alternate skins for your in-game “Messengers,” which seem to be required in order to use some of the game’s online play modes.

With Driveclub being released in October, it means that Bloodborne will likely be the first PS4 exclusive to come out in 2015 that makes its way to a full retail release. It’s not like the PS4 needs help to move off of store shelves, but it’s interesting to see one of the more intriguing and hardcore-fan-backed titles to see a release in February, a typically-dead period when it comes to retail sales. The first two months in a new year seem to have that effect, with the biggest slate of games in the year typically coming out beginning at the end of February/early March. If the game is anything like the Souls series, however, there shouldn’t be anything to worry about.

Bloodborne will be released exclusively on the PS4 on February 5th in Japan and on February 6th in North America.
