Gamescom 2014: Assassin’s Creed Rogue Locations, Gameplay Video

Welcome to the Northern Arctic! Assassin’s Creed Rogue looks to have you playing  a Templar on the side of the British during the Seven Years’ War. In the trailer above, you can see a lot about what’s to come in terms of naval combat in the new addition to the story of the Americas during the 18th century of Assassin’ Creed. Dynamic weather, Naval encounters, Shipwrecks, and more are key features shown off.

More from News

You control Shay Patrick Cormack as he traverses the arctic in the Morrigan, a very capable ship, faster and more well equipped than the ship in Black Flag, that even features some old friends of the Kenway storyline as part of he crew. You can also take over other ships that he engages with and send the ship to help the British in their battle against the French.

Second, Assassin’s Creed Rogue also takes place in the American River Valley. This area will feature naval and ground combat unlike the Arctic location.

Here you can see some of the ship’s offensive capabilities, including front firing cannons. We also get a bit of a first glimpse at the burning oil barrels set out to disrupt those looking to chase you.

The land portion of Assassin’s Creed Rogue offers a bit of the usual we can expect: Objectives, landmarks, and targets. The weapons available to you as Shay are a bit more powerful than as most of the Assassin’s Creed protagonists: Air rifle, grenade launcher, and gas mask. You also have various enemies, Stalkers, who can assassinate you as well, but Shay’s Eagle Vision allows him to see and hear these hidden enemies. The environments look like they’ll do a bit more interacting to you here in different ways than has been done in other Assassin’s Creed games.

Check out the trailers above and let me know what you think of these Assassin’s Creed Rogue locations. Assassin’s Creed Rogue arrives on PS3 and Xbox 360 November 11, 2014.
