If you participated in the Destiny Beta, then you will be able to remember the multiplayer Crucible mode of the game. Essentially, the Beta allowed you to play matches of Control where your team and you attempt to take control of all of the landmarks available on the map. Well, now Destiny has shown off many of the new multiplayer modes that will be coming to Destiny in the full game. Check it out in the trailer below:

The following is a list of those multiplayer modes named in the trailer and their brief descriptions:

Skirmish: Small team tactics. Kill the enemy. Revive teammates. (This seems like team mode aimed at killing an enemy)

Rumble: Kill Everything. Watch your back. (This seems less a team mode, but a regular deathmatch mode)

Salvage: Salvage relics. Kill enemy players. Revive teammates.

Clash: All out team warfare. Destroy the enemy. (Difference here from skirmish seems like you’ll be fighting other players here)

Combined Arms: All out team warfare with vehicles. Destroy the Enemy.

Control: Capture zones to increase points per kill. (Much like deathmatch, but the added incentive to lock down areas of map)

Iron Banner: Power Matters. Earn epic rewards and gear. (This mode is for the best of the best to face each other for loot)

So the Competitive Multiplayer section of Destiny, also known as the Crucible, will feature at least these 7 modes at launch. For Sony exclusively, there is an extra map thrown into the Crucible for Playstation gamers and there is extra loot in the game exclusive to PlayStation.

Destiny releases September 9th, 2014. The first expansion of the game will be title The Dark Below and it will be released in December 2014.
