Square Enix, never the one to let sleeping dogs lie, have decided to release a Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition to the public. It will go on sale on October 10th later this year, and will be headed for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
What’s coming to Sleeping Dogs that makes it the definitive edition, you ask? Well, bundled in with the game are 24 DLC packs, upgraded audio quality and up to 1080p graphics on consoles. It is not clear that both the PS4 and the Xbox One version will receive 1080p graphics, but with things getting a bit testy over at Sony concerning pixel count and screen resolutions, I’m sure it will become quite clear in time.
As great as this news is for fans of Sleeping Dogs or those who’ve been meaning to try it out and now can do so on the PS4 and Xbox One, I can’t help but wonder why this game is coming out in October. Not even taking into consideration the fact that everyone and their grandparents seem to be coming out with a game this October, but it’s just two months away until release and we’ve yet to see any in-game promotional material to come with the announcement. The best we have is a real-action trailer, which does little to explain to gamers why they should get an older game on a newer console.
Either way, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is coming out on October 10 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Here’s that trailer I mentioned previously, right below.
