Blizzard Will Reveal Warlords of Draenor Release Date Next Week in Los Angeles

Blizzard announced today that the release date for World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion, Warlords of Draenor, will be revealed next week at a special event in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by Mike Morhaime, Chris Metzen, and designers Ion Hazzikostas and Brian Holinka. The official trailer for the expansion will also be revealed at this time.

The event will take place on Thursday, August 14 at 9:30 AM PDT at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, and will be livestreamed on the World of Warcraft website. Doors open at 8:30 AM and seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All those who attend the live event will receive a Warlords of Draenor beta key. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition to the release date announcement and trailer, Blizzard will also début episode one of Lords of War, an animated lore mini-series, and hold a live interview with the developers.

Warlords of Draenor takes players once again through the Dark Portal, this time into the pre-Outland Draenor, where they will attempt to stop the Iron Horde’s invasion of Azeroth under the leadership of Grommash Hellscream. The expansion will include a raised level cap of 100, garrisons, revamped character models, changes to stats and an item/stat squish, new dungeons and raids, and much more.
