The Red Bull Battlegrounds Atlanta StarCraft II event is live for today’s finals! More than a hundred competitors have come to the Peach state, as more than $8,000 is on the line for whoever comes out on top!

If you think Red Bull Battlegrounds Atlanta is just your run-of-the-mill StarCraft II tournament, think again! While we will see some of the top World Championship of StarCraft talent compete from July 11 – 13, this event will operate under an open registration. Up to 128 players, ranging from complete unknown to name-brand players, will compete not only for important WCS standings points, but for a chance to win it all and compete in the Red Bull Battlegrounds Grand Final in Washington DC.
Popular eSports shoutcasters Sean “Day[9]” Plott, Kevin “RotterdaM” Van Der Kooi, Nathan “Nathanias” Fabrikant and Alex“Axeltoss” Rodriguez will be on hand to provide thoughtful commentary, critical analysis and further generate excitement for what is sure to be an exciting conclusion. Competitors will have from the following map pool to choose from: Alterzim Stronghold, Frost, Habitation Station, King Sejong Station, Merry Go Round, Overgrowth and Waystation. $25,000 in total prizes are up for grabs at this Red Bull Battlegrounds Atlanta event, with the full prize list as the following:
- 1st place: $8,000, 750 WCS Points, qualification to Battle Grounds Grand Final in Washington DC and an expense-paid trip to compete there.
- 2nd place: $4,000, 500 WCS Points
- 3rd-4th place: $1,700, 375 WCS Points
- 5th-8th place: $800, 250 WCS Points
- 9th-16th place: $400, 125 WCS Points
- 17th-32nd place: $200
- 33rd-128th place: Pride. (TBD)
