It was promised by game director Hideo Kojima on Twitter, and that promise has now been fulfilled. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain gameplay was shown off in the latest Kojima Station broadcast, showing off an early-game mission to save Kaz Miller from the middle of a desert outpost.

More from Previews

Not only do we get to hear Troy Baker voice Revolver Ocelot in an in-game cutscene, but more importantly we get to see the Big Boss riding on a horse, doing horse stealthing! It seems as though the two minutes of footage from the Phantom Pain gameplay footage from last week during E3 2014 made its way into this demo, as we do see Big Boss Fulton the heck out of a lot of people and objects.

Another cool aspect shown is the dynamic weather system that the Fox Engine provides. Not only does the game on PS4 play at 1080p and 60 FPS, but the weather systems change in at the blink of an eye, with a sandstorm interrupting Big Boss’ mission throughout. Furthermore, we do get to see more tertiary aspects of Phantom Pain gameplay, including calling in support and visiting your very own Mother Base. Depending on your layouts, materials used and stylings, each Mother Base may prove to be unique between players.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.
