E3 2014: Star Fox Wii U Title Leaked By TIME

facebooktwitterreddit

Looks like TIME just made Nintendo’s enemy list after breaking an absolutely major embarge. Just hours before Nintendo are to hold their Digital Event, the international publication released an interview with Nintendo game creator Shigeru Miyamoto, in which they reveal that he’s been working on 3 games; Star Fox Wii U, Project Giant Robot and Project Guard.

More from News

The Star Fox Wii U title is set to use the Wii U GamePad’s motion controls to steer your Arwing’s direction, with the analog stick being used to increase speed and perform moves like doing a barrel roll. You can still turn into a tank on land to destroy foes, but Miyamoto believes that the new control scheme will be, “Not only novel, but with practice, indispensable.”

Without eyes on the game in play, it’s hard to determine that, but regardless, it’s great to see the Star Fox series make its return to consoles after a long time off. It would have been a more hype-inducing moment if it was completely revealed during Nintendo’s Digital Event instead of getting teased early by TIME, so we’ll have to see if it changes the perception of Nintendo’s performance when it’s all said and done in comparison to Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft.
