During the Nintendo Digital Event, Hyrule Warriors gameplay was featured live on stream, revealing that a ton of characters from the Zelda universe will be playable in the game. Midna, Zelda, and Impa were showcased for audience members to see.

Zelda was shown using a sword, as well as creating a magical bow in order to defeat waves of foes in Hyrule Warriors. Midna preferred to use magic and what appears to be Wolf Link in order to mow through big crowds of enemies. Impa prefers to use the big sword of hers (similar to a curved Buster Sword) to slice and dice. Of course, Nintendo would be remiss if they didn’t show Link use his regular arsenal of weapons, as well.

A 2 player mode was also introduced, using the GamePad and TV output for a non-split-screen multiplayer experience.

Hyrule Warriors comes out on September 26, 2014 exclusively for the Wii U.
