It looks like it will combine the platforming sensibilities of Super Mario 3D World and the treasure hunting of the treasure hunting game that came from the Kirby treasure game on the SNES. Captain Toad will use tools available to him (pickaxe, etc.) in order to traverse the colorful lands and adverse challenges that face him. The game will also feature the GamePad in order to enter a first-person mode at key times.

Additionally, it has been revealed that Captain Toad will use Amiibo technologies in the future, which will provide numerous new and exciting gameplay opportunities to the title.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will be coming to the Wii U exclusively this holiday season.
