DEFY Media Purchases Gametrailers On Eve Of E3 2014 Coverage
Even though Gametrailers is covering E3 2014 live right now, that doesn’t stop the ongoing nature of business from taking over. A press release has just been sent out, declaring that DEFY Media will be acquiring some of Viacom’s digital gaming assets. Such assets include Addicting Games, GameTrailers and Shockwave. Furthermore, Viacom will receive a minority interest in DEFY media.

This confirms what Michael Pachter tweeted this past April, as this deal has been in the works for quite some time. Why the announcement had to come in less than an hour before Microsoft’s Xbox: Game On media briefing is unclear, but it seems to DEFY logic and reason. Pun intended.
